"If you want to win,"
"...you need to know..."
"...just one thing..."
"...and not to waste..."
"...on anything else:"
I created this project to escape my comfort zone. An escape from the rush of agencies, from the guidelines and brandbooks.
An attempt to get even closer to graphic and artistic techniques.
One way to get HANDS-ON.
I picked this quote off Umberto Eco's Number Zero:
"If you want to win, you need to know just one thing and not to waste your time
on anything else: the pleasures of erudition are reserved for losers.".
And to counter this advice, I decided to learn more.
I broke the quote into 10 pieces. And from each section I created a poster, using a different technique: screen printing, pixel art, linography, light painting and even a computer game.
It was a slow, difficult process. Which gave me time to make mistakes and start over. To understand the nuances of each technique. To learn by myself their limitations and various possibilities.
Losing, but in the most pleasant way.
